Nepali Unicode Converter — Roman Nepali Typing, Preeti to Unicode and Unicode to Preeti

This free Nepali Unicode Converter converts Roman Nepali typing into Unicode Devanagari text. It also supports Preeti to Unicode and Unicode to Preeti conversion.

Vowel scheme: Single a = inherent schwa (the consonant's natural sound, no explicit matra). Double aa = explicit ā (ā-kār ा). So ka → क, kaa → का.

3. a = inherent schwa (क, ल)  ·  aa = ā-kār matra (का, ला).
4. Use - (hyphen) to break a consonant cluster: maal-pot → मालपोत.
5. Use + to force halant: j+Ng → ज्ञ  ·  Use \ at word end for halant.
6. Use Ctrl/Cmd + Z to undo chip insertion.

Single a = inherent schwa — no matra is added; the consonant stands on its own. ka → क  ·  la → ल.

Double aa = ā-kār (ा) — adds the long ā matra. kaa → का  ·  laa → ला  ·  raamro → राम्रो.

Consonant clusters form automatically when consecutive consonants have no vowel between them: raamro → राम्रो, kaanchha → कान्छा.

Vocalic R (ृ / ऋ): ri at word-start or before any vowel → ऋ/ृ (e.g. brindaa → बृन्दा). After a vowelled syllable → र+ी.

Vowel mapping: a → (inherent), aa → ा, i → ि, ii → ी, u → ु, uu → ू, e → े, ai → ै, o → ो, au → ौ, ri → ृ.

Capital letters for retroflex: T=ट, D=ड, N=ण, Sh=ष, Th=ठ, Dh=ढ.
